‘Perfect’ Nutella stuffed pancake recipe that takes just 10 minutes
This week, millions of households will be digging out their frying pans and whipping up some delicious homemade pancakes in celebration of Pancake Tuesday. The basic recipe only requires a few ingredients, but if you really want to jazz them up a bit, there are plenty of options sure to elevate your pancakes to new heights.
One recipe which has racked up millions of views across social media was created by Giorgia Paino, who often posts delicious yet easy dessert ideas that everybody round the table will love. Her Nutella stuffed pancakes are so indulgent, yet they come together very quickly. And even better, they only require a handful of cupboard staple ingredients that you’ve probably already got at home.
The secret lies in freezing your Nutella in small, flat pieces that you can pop on to the batter while the pancake is cooking, so that when you flip it, the spread melts beautifully inside.
This can be done overnight, so it’s ideal if you want to get ahead before Pancake Tuesday arrives – just make sure to pop it on some baking parchment so it doesn’t stick to the surface of your container.
Letting the pancake batter rest for 10 minutes before you cook will also make the world of difference if you want that perfect fluffy texture.
Here’s everything you need to make this recipe on Pancake Tuesday.
Combine the eggs with the sugar and vanilla in a bowl. Then add the flour, baking soda and baking powder, then the water. Let the batter rest for 10 minutes.
Grab a pan and place it over a medium-low heat on the hob. To make the flipping process easier, you can add some butter or oil to the pan in order to prevent sticking.
Ladle some of the batter into the pan, then pop one of the Nutella pieces in the middle before covering with a little more batter. Allow the pancakes to cook for a few minutes on either side, until nice and golden – you’ll know it’s time to flip when sunken bubbles start to appear on the surface.
To serve, sprinkle with some icing sugar if you like, before adding some berries, yoghurt or any other toppings that you fancy.
