How to cook a perfect poached egg – follow three essential steps
Many people enjoy poached eggs because they provide a cleaner, fresher taste in which you can truly appreciate the flavor of the egg.
Poached eggs don’t have any butter or oil in the ingredients that affect the taste, and they don’t typically get burnt, primarily leaving you to relish the natural taste of the egg.
There are many methods out there that claim to give you perfect poached eggs in just minutes. Now, there’s another way that’s been gaining popularity online.
In a Reddit Forum for food hacks, someone shared how to cook a “perfectly poached egg.” First, crack an egg into a strainer and sift it.
Next, you’re going to stir the hot water in your pot as it’s bubbling. Finally, pour the egg into the pot.

“The easiest way to poach eggs is to bring about 1.5″ of water to a gentle simmer and then carefully crack your eggs into the water.
“After all eggs are in the water, turn off the heat and cover them for about 4 min. (longer for firmer, shorter for runnier). Remove with a slotted spoon and enjoy.”
They expressed that “all that other stuff is to make it feel fancy.” And they stressed that poached eggs are the “easiest and laziest style” of egg to cook by a big margin.
